Ingredients
  1. 1 avocado, mashed
  2. juice from 1 lemon
  3. 100 mls cream
  4. salt & pepper
  5. 1½ tsp sugar
  6. dash of celery salt
  7. a few finely chopped chives
Instructions
  1. Mix all together to a "dip" consistency; chill & serve.

Ingredients
  1. 100 mls white vinegar
  2. 50 mls oil
  3. 1 dessert spoon brown sugar
  4. 1 tsp crushed garlic
  5. 20 mls soya sauce
  6. salt & pepper
  7. ½ tsp curry powder
  8. ½ tsp chilli powder
Instructions
  1. Mix & soak meat with this for several hours in the refrigerator.

  1. 3 cups rolled oats
  2. 1 cup wheatgerm
  3. 1 cup cooking wheat bran
  4. ½ cup coconut
  5. ½ cup non-fat milk powder
  6. ½ cup raw sugar (optional)
  7. 1 cup sultanas
  8. 1 cup currants
  9. ¼ cup whole linseeds
  10. 2 Tbsp poppy seeds
  11. 2 Tbsp sesame seeds
  12. Similar amounts of pumpkin kernels and sunflower seeds as available.
Instructions
  1. In a very large bowl put in the above ingredients (in any order). Mix well and store in airtight containers. Serve with raw apple, or other raw or stewed fruit, and milk. This is a very sustaining and healthy breakfast.

  1. Juice of 6 lemons
  2. Grated rind of 4 lemons
  3. 900 grams (2 lb) sugar
  4. 8 Tbs artificial sweetener
  5. 2¼ litres (4 pints) boiling water
  6. 28 grams (1 oz) citric acid
  7. 28 grams (1 oz) tartaric acid
  8. 28 grams (1 oz) Epsom salts
Instructions
  1. Dilute to taste (only a small amount is needed).

Ingredients
  1. 5 Tbs sugar
  2. 2 Tbs golden syrup
  3. 1 tsp baking soda (Bicarbonate)
Instructions
  1. Bring sugar & golden syrup to the boil slowly, stirring all the time. Simmer gently over very low heat, stirring occasionally for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and add soda. Stir very quickly to combine but don't over-mix. Pour immediately into greased tin and leave to cool & harden. Don't fuss about smoothening it or it will stay soft & "airless".

  1. 250 grams flour (8oz)
  2. 1 tsp baking powder
  3. 1Tbs. butter
  4. ½ cup milk
  5. Stewed apples
Instructions
  1. Put stewed apples in greased dish. Make scone dough topping - sift flour & baking powder Rub in the butter, mix with milk to a soft dough. Roll out and place on top of hot apple. Bake at 190ºC (375ºF) until crust is browned.

Ingredients
  1. 1 Tbs. butter
  2. 1 cup flour
  3. ½ tsp salt
  4. 2 tsp baking powder
  5. 1/3 cup sugar
  6. 1 cup sultanas
Topping
  1. 2 -2½ cups boiling water
  2. 1 Tbs. butter
  3. 1 cup brown sugar
Instructions
  1. Rub butter into flour. Mix to a paste with ½ - 1 cup milk. Place in large baking dish & pour over the following mixture: 2 -2½ cups boiling water 1 Tbs.butter, 1 cup brown sugar. Bake for 30 minutes at 180ºC (350ºF). Serves 6.

  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 2 tsp baking powder
  3. ¼ tsp salt
  4. ¼ cup sugar
  5. ½ cup milk
  6. 2 tsp melted butter
  7. 1 tsp vanilla
Topping
  1. ½ cup each of white & brown sugar
  2. 2 rounded Tbs. cocoa
Instructions
  1. Sift flour, salt, baking powder & add sugar. Mix and add milk, melted butter & vanilla. Pour into baking dish and add topping.
Topping
  1. Mix together and sprinkle over mixture and gently pour over 1 cup of cold water. Bake for 40 minutes at 160ºC (325ºF).

Ingredients
  1. 1 Tbs. butter
  2. ½ breakfast cup sugar
  3. juice & grated rind of 1 lemon
  4. 2 Tbs. flour
  5. 1 breakfast cup milk
  6. pinch of salt
  7. 2 eggs, separated
Instructions
  1. Cream butter & sugar; add flour, salt, rind & juice, then the milk & egg yokes. Lastly fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into greased pie dish and place in pan of cold water. Bake 160ºC (325ºF) for 40 minutes (do not overcook).

  1. 4 medium apples
Topping
  1. ½ cup self raising flour (or plain flour & 1tsp baking powder)
  2. ¾ cup sugar, 2 Tbs. butter
  3. 1 cup cold water
Instructions
  1. Peel, core & cut apples in half like a doughnut. Place cut side down in greased pan. Cover with topping.
Topping
  1. Sift flour into bowl, add sugar and rub in the butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in the cold water and gently pour over the apples. Bake uncovered for 35 -40 minutes at 180ºC (350ºF). Fruit remains whole set in a delicious apple flavoured jelly, topped with a light sponge crust.
