Hot Milk Fruit Cake
Ingredients
- 250 grams ½ lb butter
- 450 grams 1 lb flour
- 250 grams ½ lb sugar
- 750 grams 1½ lb mixed fruit
- 2 tsps mixed spice
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsps baking soda
- 2 large cups of very hot milk
Instructions
- Rub butter into flour. Mix in sugar, spice and salt. Add fruit & mix well. Dissolve soda in milk. Add milk & soda and blend. Bake in old square cake tin 1½ - 2 hours in moderate oven. Keep 3 days before cutting.
