Aunt Daisy’s Apple Shortcake

  • Some apples
  • 125 grams butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • a small amount of milk
  • 2 breakfast cups flour
  • 1 heaped tsp baking powder


  • Stew the apples. Cream together 125 grams butter and ¾ cup sugar. Then add 1 egg and beat well. Add a small amount of milk. Sift together 2 breakfast cups flour and 1 heaped tsp baking powder
  • This will be a fairly dry mix. Roll out. Put apple on half and cover with the other half. Bake moderate oven until lightly brown.
